The De-load Concept
This week I’m introducing clients to the de-load concept. It’s something I use in my training and is a great way to allow the muscles to recover and is an effective to maximize muscle gains. There are 3 ways to de-load.
1. Decrease load and intensity of workout to about half of what you would normally perform
2. Decrease volume meaning less reps but keeping the same amount of sets and same weight
3. Choose a different type of exercise instead of weight training, such as swimming, low intensity body weight training etc.
This week, I’m using 15% of the weights I normally use but stuck with the same amount of sets and reps.
If you haven’t incorporated de-loading or planned recovery periods into your workouts, try it, it is a great way to prevent plateaus in your workouts.
